Jeff Lubin has been a leading portrait photographer in the Washington, D.C. area for over 35 years. His client list has included actress Lynda Carter, sports stars Cal Ripken & Ryan Zimmerman, and Robert & Sheila Johnson.
In 2017, Jeff Lubin was chosen among the best portrait artists in the U.S. to create seven 30x40" portrait paintings of the Judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals, to hang in the United States Court of Military Appeals. It is a historic building located at 450 E St. NW, Washington, D.C., and holds other paintings of judges that go all the way back to the early 1900's. This is a "once in a lifetime" legacy project, which will allow for his work to be on display for many generations to come.
The reason Jeff was drawn to classical portraiture was due to its timeless beauty. His gift to his clients are their heirloom portraits, which create breathtaking art for the home that never gets old. His ability to capture the essence of perfect expression with character depth is a skill possessed by very few artists today. As you view the images on this site, you will notice the unmistakable "look" that helps people to know it is a "Lubin Original" without question-- a distinct brand of his own.
Jeff believes in giving back to the community, and his studio has raised over $165,000 for the Lombardi Cancer Center to fight children's cancer. In addition, the studio has contributed much more in the form of donations to many area wide associations, over the course of his thirty-five years as an artist.
Jeff's sensitive and unique style has won him many national and state awards. He earned the coveted Master of Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of America in 1992, after only three years of competition. The following year, Jeff received the Craftsman Degree, also from the Professional Photographers of America. Jeff twice won the Grand Photographic Award from the Virginia Professional Photographers Association, indicating the top photographer Virginia. He also has twice been named Portrait Photographer of the Year by the Maryland Professional Photographers.
Jeff has produced a book on the business of photography on children's and bridal portraiture, and his name and photographs have gone all over the world. Jeff's portraits have been published on the cover of three issues of Rangefinder Magazine and one cover of The Professional Photographer. He has published over 50 articles in professional photography magazines, and has been a contributing artist for the Professional Photographers of America's monthly publication. Lubin portraits are featured in thousands of homes in the greater Washington Metropolitan Area.
